Two weeks after planting, our first attempt at cauliflower is a dismal failure. We’re not sure what went wrong here but the poor seedlings just seemed to wilt. Their roots look to be all desiccated below the soil line. It’s hard to tell if something was nibbling on them or not. Could be a bad batch from the local garden center. Hooray! Our first plants went into the ground this past weekend. The second week of April is a little early for us in Massachusetts but the plants are beginning to show up at the garden centers and the wife and I couldn’t resist the temptation of trying a few new things, the first frost be damned. …continue reading
