Earlier this year I wrote how something had eaten the roots of my cauliflower transplants. Only one plant of my original six survived but it appears to be doing well and has a developing curd.

I wish you the best of luck with your cauliflower. I have yet to succeed with broccoli, cauliflower or brussel sprouts. They always get horribly infested with little white aphids or something. I may try covering them with frost cloth this year to see if it helps.
Hopefully the one surviving will provide a head. Maybe LAO'M has some pointers PAC might solicite. I seem to recall the family having cauliflower at their local Farmer's Market stand. Another JAE question. He used to help out at it when the opportunity presented.
My cauliflower is at about at the same stage as yours. They definitely require a lot of patience. I lost a couple of my cauliflower plants as well…and you're right, it seems like the damage was done underground..I'm thinking cut worms.
My error on local family. Their stand had root veggies, toms, peppers, w/o any cauliflower to a JAE's memory.
The sole survivor is also the only one in a different bed from the casualties.
"… different bed …" Possible influence on your results? You've noticed the location mattered in some of your other efforts.
